Imagine This Wins CEDIA Best Home Cinema Award

CEDIA revealed the winners of its eighth annual CEDIA Awards to an enthusiastic industry audience in the regal surroundings of the Pavilion at the Tower of London on Friday 28th June.
Sponsored by AMX, Control 4, Crestron, Kaleidescape and Rako, the CEDIA Awards celebrate the system design, installation and integration excellence in the home technology sector.  Over 160 remarkable submissions from 15 different countries, representing a 61% increase on entries compared to the previous year, competed for the top media room, home cinema, integrated home, superyacht and other category prizes.
“We have been overwhelmed by the outstanding quality in this record-breaking year for entries,” says Gary Lewis, Chairman of CEDIA Region 1. “The creativity of the participating companies has shown what is possible to achieve in the current expanding industry. This year’s winners have truly set the benchmark higher for next year. The continuing support from the industry for the scheme is the foundation of its success, and we would like to thanks all companies who have taken the time and effort to enter the CEDIA Awards 2013.”
Winners ranged from a superb media room in Pakistan, sensitively converted into an ‘invisible’ multi-purpose living area with electrifying sound quality to a truly extraordinary eco home in Yorkshire, fully integrated with photovoltaics and rainwater harvesting.

Winner Of The Best Home Cinema Over £100,000

Imagine This UK Ltd

“Luxury Screening Room”

In the judges words “wow, a flawless home cinema which is technically perfect”.

The client was a person with a very practical understanding of the technical aspects and deliverables of a screening room. The aspiration was for a private room, which would be opulent and luxurious; constructed in a new purpose-built space. Imagine This undertook responsibility for all electronic systems, from the screening room electronics, to the lighting. The installer worked with experts from many disciplines such as artisan cabinetmakers, decorative plasterwork specialists, theatrical curtain makers and bespoke carpet manufacturers, to bring all of the elements together.
A great deal of consideration was given to the robustness of the electronic systems: integrated fail-safes and specialist hardware such as power conditioning on all electronic items; reset equipment for the decoder; and redundancy by separating the AV and the lighting control processors. In terms of control, an advanced system was used to consolidate and automate the functions needed. A tailored GUI was also designed, using consistent visual elements from the aesthetic room design. Once the equipment had been fully installed and the room furnishings were in place, Imagine This completed a final audio room correction process and then HAA (Home Acoustics Alliance), THX and ISF calibrations.

Guy Singleton, Managing Director of Imagine This:
"The CEDIA Awards is a fantastic event, where the very finest companies in our sector showcase the ultimate projects from their portfolio. We feel incredibly proud to have won the Best Home Cinema Over £100k award. We have a high market position and an enviable reputation for the design and delivery of the finest screening rooms. Recognition from CEDIA endorses this, showing us and others that we are operating at the very highest level.”

Installer Of The year 2010

On the 23rd April 2010 Imagine This continued to add to their impressive awards tally, with "Home Cinema Choice's Installer Of The year 2010".

The Awards themselves were held at the Apollo Cinema, Regents Street, London, where 250 of the industry's most acclaimed manufacturers and revered installers gathered to witness the ceremony.

"An outstanding example of CI excellence" was how the judges described Imagine This projects.

Guy and Karin Singleton were there to collect the award and enjoyed the event as a whole, but winning made it all the better! Guy commented
"After the CEDIA award success last Friday and the the momentum we have gathered throughout the year, this for me was the icing on the
cake. I personally have been a fan of HCC since my first Laser Disc player (Pioneer 2950), so to win this award was without doubt one of
my real goals. We are a company that prides ourselves on our technical ability in the custom install market and I feel pleased that this has been recognised by Home Cinema Choice. The HCC awards are a great achievement for us, as we are a compact but specialist company; this shows what we can do and the level we are operating at. I am very proud of my team and I look forward to another successful year."

Imagine This success at the CEDIA Awards 2010

We are delighted to announce that our "Keston Theatre" project was highly commended at the CEDIA Awards on Friday 16th April 2010.
CEDIA recognised our entry for enhancing the experience for the user; "it was the fingertip recognition, amongst other things, that caught the
imagination of the judges and won Imagine This a Highly Commended accolade for this multi-sensory and state-of-the-art home cinema".

In what was probably the most hotly contested category at the event, we were delighted to have been recognised for the technical expertise of our installation.

We were also honoured to have been selected as Finalist for our "Kingston Theatre" project.

In the cinema award categories this year, CEDIA were looking for entries which met their stringent criteria for technical merit and for
installation excellence. Imagine This were proud to have both of our entries reach the finals and to be recognised as providing such a high technical standard of cinema design and installation.

Guy Singleton, Design Director for Imagine This, said "I feel very proud that CEDIA recognised the high standards of both of our cinema entries. It seems that the bar is raised higher each year in terms of the technical standard of entries and we certainly were competing against the finest installations both in the UK and abroad. I am pleased for the whole team that CEDIA have honoured us with the Highly Commended accolade as it endorses our position as one of the UK's leading cinema experts."

Imagine This triumphed at the 2009 Crestron Integration Awards, stealing the show in the Home Sweet Home Cinema category with 'Forest Drive' - an impressive and all-encompassing home cinema solution for a Kent family home and an example of true Crestron theatre!

In completing the project, Imagine This answered the clients brief for a THX ISF reference high definition home cinema for his family to enjoy, but offering the same Crestron control system as the rest of his high-tech property. From the inclusion of Crestron iPod docks to Crestron tuners, to Crestron lighting and to AV control, this home theatre truly packs the full Crestron punch!

The attention to detail which has been applied is evident throughout the property, even in those areas which are out of sight. Yes, this is a project which looks every bit as good behind the scenes as it does front of house, something that was also recognised by CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) when it won the Best Dressed category at the CEDIA Awards 2009.

Guy Singleton - Design Director at Imagine This said "I am delighted to win this award for 'Best Home Theatre' from Crestron its truly been a fantastic year for us. We had all agreed that this was a special project, but to have this recognition from Crestron really confirms how great this theatre is. Crestron have always been known for the touch-panels and processors, but we used so much more on this project; from lighting, HVAC, intercom & amplifiers, it really gave the whole project a quality finish. Our aim at Imagine This is to design, install and calibrate a theatre that the client will use effortlessly for years to come."

Imagine This pride themselves on the quality and workmanship of their installs and this project was no exception, so for a theatre that looks as good behind the screen as it does in front of it, Imagine This provides the very best solution. With exclusive brands like Runco, Screen research, Triad and Denon Professional all added to the Crestron nucleus of a control platform it can only lead to a breath taking install.
